Highlights of Threshers Veterans and Military Appreciation Night

Saturday evening, veterans, military members, supporters, and baseball fans came out to the Brighthouse stadium for the annual Clearwater Threshers Veterans and Military appreciation night.  Veterans Help Group is proud to have been the title sponsor for the game.  The evening began with US Air Force Para jumpers completing a jump next to second base on the field. Our Clearwater hometown heroes and their families were brought onto the field and honored.  The first 1,000 attendees received a set of cards with the faces and information about these heroes upon entering the stadium.  The cards were also sponsored by Veterans Help Group. Before the first pitch, thrown out by our own Doug Jackson, new recruits were sworn in during a special ceremony.

Fans and supporters were able to view and experience what it is like to sit inside military war vehicles from different decades as well as interact with diverse volunteer organizations and military members at a multitude of booths throughout the stadium.

The game ended with the Clearwater Threshers taking the victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads 4 to 3 and a fireworks display that could be heard as far away as Safety Harbor.  A portion of the proceeds from the day will benefit the Haley House Fund and the Injured Warriors Fund.

Veterans Help Group would like to respectfully thank the military veterans, families, and supporters who attended the game.
