VA has long been criticized for delays in the length of time that it takes to process new claims and appeals. Now, it is drawing criticism because it has been slow to answer inquiries from the committee that oversees the agency – the House Committee on Veterans Affairs.
A recent report shows that VA has 111 outstanding requests for information dating back to June 2012. Many of these requests concern data breach threats involving VA networks.
It is frustrating to learn that VA has not been more responsive to these requests for information. The House Committee on Veterans Affairs plays a substantial role in the relationship between VA and Congress, and the need for transparency is readily apparent.
