A new bill, dubbed the “Florida GIG Bill,” creates a program that creates various benefits for veterans. Among its many provisions, the bill waives out-of-state tuition fees for veterans, helps veterans connect to potential employers, assists healthcare professionals with honorable discharges practice in Florida, and creates a program that will promote Florida to veterans. Gov. Rick Scott has signed off on the bill, which will cost Florida about $11.7 million.
