Veterans Help Group veterans’ attorney Ralph Bratch was interviewed for a recent article in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL Sun Sentinel newspaper about the ongoing VA disability claims backlog.
The article profiles veteran James F. Gunn, 82, who is disabled from the frostbite and mental wounds he suffered at the Battle of Chosin Reservoir in Korea. Gunn had been trying for over 5 years to obtain his pension benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs. The delay — during which time his wife quite a high-paying job to assist Gunn at home — caused the couple to file for bankruptcy.
