Lawmakers passed a veterans omnibus bill last week. This bill did not have many of the controversial provision the two chambers struggled with in recent months. Rather, the bill consisted of non-controversial items. Some of the items included were: changes in the benefits appeals process, an extension of education benefits to some war widows, and increased access to benefits for homeless veterans.
