The White House recently denied a recommendation from the Department of Veterans affairs that would establish a connection between brain cancer and service in the Persian Gulf War. If the recommendation would have been accepted it would have fast tracked hundreds of veterans with terminal brain cancer. With the current process it is up to the veteran and families to prove the connection which may take years and require pages of military and medical records.
