In an about face on his promise to help veterans by making veteran friendly changes at the VA, President Trump’s new budget proposal seeks to cut unemployability (TDIU) benefits to all veterans who are at or who reach retirement age. The President’s rationale for this proposal is that veterans are double dipping by collecting Social Security retirement and unemployability. This is a complete misunderstanding of what Social Security is and how it works. Social Security is not a government entitlement program. It is the money of the veterans who paid into it. They are simply collecting back the money they contributed. They are not double dipping. This a complete travesty to these well deserving veterans.  Full Story
