A study determined that the suicide rate for veterans has dropped from 22 in 2010 to 20 in 2014. However, officials at the VA office stated that they are still pushing to lower that number because it is way too high. They are aggressively pursuing measures to help lower the rate of suicide. The VA is bringing on new recruits to help with the Veterans Crisis Line as well as hiring new psychologists and psychiatrists. These changes are being done in an attempt to improve mental health services and to remove the stigma of asking for help.
