Veterans Help Group Advocate Makes History: Donnel Beckles Becomes AUSA’s First Regional Benefits Advisor

We’re incredibly proud to announce that our own VA Managing Advocate, Donnel Beckles, has been selected for a groundbreaking new position with the Association of the United States Army (AUSA). Donnel has been named the Sixth Region Benefits Advisor, marking the first time in AUSA’s history that any region has created such a specialized leadership role.

This historic appointment not only recognizes Donnel’s exceptional expertise but also demonstrates how Veterans Help Group’s advocates continue to lead innovation in veteran advocacy across multiple platforms and organizations.

Recognized Excellence in Action

Donnel’s selection for this role reflects the caliber of professionals we’re proud to have on the Veterans Help Group team.

His appointment came after AUSA Sixth Region leadership recognized a critical need in their organization, members consistently asking, “How do I do this?” and “What benefits do I actually receive?” These are exactly the kinds of questions Donnel tackles daily in his work with Veterans Help Group, making him the perfect candidate to bridge this gap for AUSA members.

Making a Difference on Multiple Fronts

Donnel Beckles new role with AUSA demonstrates the broader impact our team members have in the veteran community. While he continues his vital work as our VA Managing Advocate, he’s now also:

  • Fielding benefits questions for AUSA Sixth Region members and their families
  • Providing guidance on everything from simple travel recommendations to complex VA compensation issues
  • Creating educational content and videos specifically for AUSA members (CLICK HERE to watch Donnel explain how to prevent VA rating reductions)
  • Setting a new standard for regional member support that other AUSA regions may follow
