Roughly 8% of the veterans who were expelled due to sexual orientation have sought out revisions of their discharge. They are seeking to upgrade their discharges to honorable or remove any references about their sexual orientation. Arguments regarding why there are so few veterans seeking corrections revolve around lack of awareness. Other discussions included the fact that current veterans may not be affected by their record in their current position as well as unwillingness to reopen old wounds.
