Health IT initiative to Improve Response Times for our Vets

Starting on Veterans Day the Social Security Administration has launched a new Health IT initiative with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This will allow all Social Security disability processing locations to electronically receive medical records from VA facilities. Previously, in order to process these claims the agency requested medical records through secure mail or fax requests. With this new system in place the Social Security Administration can now lower response times from months to minutes. This will help Veterans receive decisions regarding their Social Security disability claims faster. Apart from this program Wounded Worriers and Veterans with a VA disability compensation rating of 100% Permanent & Total will have their Social Security Disability claims expedited.
