Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, spoke about a new policy that is going to be put in place for current Navy and Marines as well as veterans. This policy is going to take a closer look at cases where men and women will be discharged due to misconduct. If proven that this individual suffers from PTSD or Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) they can be eligible to receive medical benefits. When you are discharged with “bad papers” you do not have the ability to take part in any benefits. This is upsetting for those veterans who suffer from PTSD or TBI. Ideally, this will get those individuals the benefits they deserve to help treat these conditions.
