A group of senators pushed to include a proposal that would make it easier for veterans to upgrade their “bad paper” discharges if proven they were a result of PTSD or sexual trauma. The letter included facts pushing the need for approval, for example, a member of the military is 11 times more likely to be discharged due to misconduct after diagnosed with PTSD. This amendment was passed by the senate, however now it includes the house version of the bill. Having this bill passed would greatly alleviate pressure for those veterans discharged with bad papers who suffer from a TBI or PTSD. If approved they could now have the option to partake in benefits such as health care and home loans.
