Veterans Help Group Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway for Veterans

i 3 Table Of Contents

This year Veterans Help Group will host our second annual Turkey Giveaway for Veterans on Monday, November 20th from 11 AM – 2 PM. This tradition began as a way to give back and build a community in the Clearwater area. Here at Veterans Help Group, Thanksgiving is a holiday of giving that serves as a way to kick off the holiday season. We also love a good home-cooked meal!

As the statistics nationwide show, military veterans comprise a staggering 11% of the national homeless population even though less than 1% of Americans are enrolled in the military. We encourage everyone to think about those who cannot provide a meal for themselves or their families on Thanksgiving.  To do out part, we are giving away FREE gift cards  that can be redeemed at Wal-Mart for a turkey, ham or fresh produce.

We will be celebrating with many event partners including: Threshers Baseball, Help Heal Veterans, Frankie’s Patriot BBQ, Southwest Florida Honor Flight, The Santa Claus Drill Team, Canine Companions for Independence, Tampa Homeless Outreach, Sarge The Bald Eagle from Avian Veteran Alliance, Clearwater Veteran Center, Injured Warriors Fund of Florida, and and a special appearance by The Bomber Girls.

Come join us for food and fun and be sure to spread the word to all of your friends and family who have served our country.

Veterans must present VA I.D. Card or DD 214 to receive free turkey gift card!  Only one gift card per person. Must come in-person to Veterans Help Group to be eligible.
